Privacy Policy

This explains what TurkishFriend collects and why. We keep this as short as the truth allows.
What we collect
- A random device ID — generated in your browser, stored in localStorage.
It's a pseudonymous identifier, not an account; we don't ask for your name, email, or phone
number to use the chat itself.
- Your chat messages — stored so your conversation survives a page reload or
a return visit.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation
that a payment succeeded and a Stripe payment reference; we never see or store
your card number.
No cookies, no ad tracking
TurkishFriend doesn't use cookies or third-party ad-tracking scripts. The device ID above is
the only thing we store client-side, and it's used solely to run the product.
Who else sees this data
- OpenAI — processes your messages to generate a reply.
- Stripe — processes one-time payments.
- Supabase and Cloudflare — host our database and backend;
they store/process data on our behalf under their own security commitments.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Your rights
Wherever you are — and especially if you're in the EU/EEA/UK — you can ask us to show you what
we hold about a device, or delete it, by emailing
hello@turkishfriend.com with the request. Since we
don't collect names or emails by default, please tell us which device/browser you're asking about
(we can help you find your device ID).
Retention
Chat history and pass records are kept for as long as your device ID is active, so history can
keep working across visits. You can request deletion at any time.
Note: this is a good-faith, plain-language description of current practice —
not a certified GDPR compliance document. If TurkishFriend scales, a proper legal/DPO review is
the next step.
